Who are you?
I'm a single female, adopted by my dog Angel. My party affiliation is Independant...that way I can go with what I feel like at the time. I am an independent, intelligent, funny woman and I like who I have become. I'm still growing and learning, and continue to strive to keep my life positive.
How long have you been riding and what do you ride?
I have been riding since 2001.
I first started out with a 1983 Honda Rebel 250. I put 3 miles on that puppy and traded it in for a 1997 Yamaha Virago 750. I finally felt comfortable enough to get a bigger bike and bought a 2002 Honda Aero 1100. For my 45th birthday, I bought my dream bike after completing the Saddle Sore 1000, a 2007 Harley Davidson Road King Classic named, "Annie Oakley".
Why did you start riding?
I've always loved motorcycles as a kid. My dad scared the shit out of me (age 7) when he took me for a ride on his bike and I then only enjoyed drawing them but not riding them.
Around 1992, my roommate and her boyfriend (both co-workers of mine) invited me to go to the desert to ride quads with them. I started out on a dirt bike and loved it but I was in love with kicking ass on the quads. I finally faced my fears, and in 2001, I took the motorcycle safety course. Bought the 250 Rebel from my neighbor. I sure did look funny on that bike. Big ol' girl on a small bike. :)
Now, I can't get enough of riding.
Why are you doing the Journey to Graceland?
For so many reasons, one because it's an adventure. I mean, I'm going to be riding my motorcycle cross-country to Elvis land. I love this country. I want to see as much of it as I can, when the availability is there. I haven't traveled farther than Arizona/Nevada. I don't fly so this is the best and most enjoyable way I can think of to see as many states as I can in 2 weeks. Another reason, because Jett is such a huge Elvis fan and I want to share in her enthusiasm.
What, if anything, does Graceland represent to you?
When I hear of Graceland, I only think of Elvis. I'm curious to see all his cars, bikes, his house and how he lived.
Name one thing that the Girlz of Graceland would be surprised to know about you.
I started drinking and smoking pot & cigarettes at the age of 13. I used to drink every day before and after work (worked the 2nd shift). Finally chilled out in my early 30's.
