Who are you?
I’m a 35yo female married thru Civil Domestic Partnership and blessed by God thru the Metropolitan Community Church of San Diego to my wife of 10 years Carolyn. We have two wonderful children, our daughter Ahlynna 17yo and our son Christian 12yo, who we have raised together. Have worked for the same Medical Institution for the past 12 years and still love what I do! Born in Tijuana, Mexico, immigrated in 1985 to San Diego California with my parents Victor and Margarita. My father employed for many years by Solar Turbines Co. and my mother an Elementary School Principal. I have two brothers Victor and Luis who are married as well.

How long have you been riding and what do you ride?
Been riding for 2 years a small Honda Rebel 250 that I need to upgrade. :)

Why did you start riding?
It was the incredible feeling I get when I hear the engines and the mufflers of bikes that got me started! It’s hard to describe, it feels like energy going thru my nerves and my blood. It’s truly something else! Besides loving to see riders on their bikes.

Why are you doing the Journey to Graceland?
I know this is going to be an amazing experience...as a matter of fact the experience has already started. It’s a once in a lifetime trip, going thru so many states, visiting so many places and to top it off get to live it with my riding friends “The Girlz”. And I have to add that for the first time in my life I get to be everybody's “BITCH” (riding) :) since I won't be bringing my Rebel.

What, if anything, does Graceland represent to you?
Something totally out of the ordinary. We get to visit so many states and show people that female riders RULE too! Our group is so diverse that, in itself that’s an experience too. The respect, support, and caring that we provide to each other makes it a true sisterhood! In my case I want to provide the road support just as a back up, even though I know that we’ll do just fine. What a plus to able to visit Presley Place and share with all the children and their families. I’m just loving the whole experience!

Name one obstacle you overcame as a child, and how that shaped you today.
Having to prove to my family as a Catholic, Mexican and only daughter, that being gay is not bad, that I can be a respectful citizen just like anybody else. That the good morals I was raised with are not gone, that I’m still their daughter who loves them no matter what!

Name one thing that the Girlz of Graceland would be surprised to know about you.
Mmmmm …….There’s a disease in my family named Huntington’s Chorea that not many people have heard of. In my family the gene is very strong, more than 50% of the family has it, including my father who has been living in a nursing home since he turned 54yo. I wish I could do something to bring more awareness to people in general, it’s sad that there’s even doctors who haven’t heard of this illness.
