San Diego Chapter - Our Story

San Diego has always had pristine weather for riding motorcycles. The San Diego Chapter of Women in the Wind was started by a handful of women who had the desire to ride. A few of them were familiar with the internationally known group - Women in the Wind. These San Diego women started what has become today, a thriving and well-balanced group of female riders who look forward to meeting once a month (or more) and creating valued friendships. For that, we will always be grateful.

Basically, our members come from all walks of life. Some are single, married, moms, grandmothers and a couple are just out to have a good time. Of course, our professional backgrounds are just as varied. Some of our professional careers involve service, media, government, law, education, business owners, private enterprise and retirement. The most important commonality in our group is the desire to ride motorcycles in a safe and fun environment. We like to do what we can to make our riding experience supportive to new and experienced riders alike. One of our goals is to promote a positive image of women motorcyclists. When we can, we join other local motorcycle riding groups to support local charities.
